elitist pig & doubledotdash!? present...

TURN TO CRIME + FLOAT RIVERER + TODDLERS + JOE MARSHALL
where: south street arts centre, reading, uk.
when: 11 May 2011 20:00 - 23:00
admission: £3
TURN TO CRIME (detroit, usa)
the solo project of detroit musician derek stanton (ex-awesome color), is somewhat reminiscent of big star with psychic instrumental guitar reflections turning into deep pop, only with a more motorik rhythmic feel.

at live performances derek sings and plays guitar & synth along to music & video art mixed down to VHS, pumped through a wall of amps and a projector, creating a nice time indeed.

FLOAT RIVERER (manchester, uk)
formed in 2010 whilst hitch-hiking across the uk, float riverer is a duo playing gnarled, catchy-as-a-cold garage punk hits.

TODDLERS (reading, uk)
spaceage garage skronk raggamuffin bass n drum duo. doubledotdash!? house band.

JOE MARSHALL (oxford, uk)
JOE has been traversing higher plains of sound for over a decade now, slowly perfecting his craft over that period he navigates between the skyward trajectories of bowed guitar and the cosmic bound explorations of droned synths and other-worldly sampled loops. it is difficult not to experience his music as a journey to a place both familiar yet refreshingly ‘other’.

“…a delightfully unsignposted and roadless musical landscape…essential to all you inner space cadets…” – JULIAN COPE
