ADVANCE BASE (chicago, usa)
advance base is new music by CASIOTONE FOR THE PAINFULLY ALONE mastermind owen ashworth. under his new moniker, ashworth conjures dreamy waltzes, heavy-hearted ballads & electro pop torch songs from rhodes electric piano, sampler, & drum machine.

advance base songs deal with deceased racehorses, estranged siblings, disappearing loves & all things long lost.

ALASDAIR ROBERTS (glasgow, uk)
an acclaimed scottish singer-songwriter signed to DRAG CITY. his discography not only covers his own compositions, but also traditional folk from the british isles, and an impressive list of collaborators. always a favourite at south street, and we’re excited that he can make it 2013’s DOUBLEDOTBASH. official website

an energetic, distorted mess of riffs and howled vocals. break out the cold ones.

THOUGHT FORMS (wiltshire, uk)
thought forms are a three piece band from wiltshire who've been making music together since 2004 when they started life at castello del terrascope.

charlie romijn (guitars / vocals), deej dhariwal (guitars / vocals) and guy metcalfe (drums) have already made their mark live – cultivating a colossal sound that bands twice their number would struggle to re-create, with appearances at various ATP events and tour support slots with portishead and esben and the witch in the past year.

PET CAT (reading, uk)
formed from the remnants of, possibly, our favourite ever reading band HUNTING THE SHY, PET CAT started life as a solo output for ali’s fragile song-writing. with the addition of former stalker-of-the-meek will on bass and liam on drums (both of ddd!? house band and reading’s "most lethal rhythm section", TODDLERS) PET CAT became a formidable live unit and released the classic 'wires' cassette back in 2012; a spell-binding mix of reverb drenched dream-pop-heaviosity and delicate song craft.

will was replaced by phil whose adroit playing not only complements the existing songs but fleshes out new material that continues to highlight the individual voice and talents of this skilful trio.

THE 3.1419 WONDERS (reading, uk)
the 3.1419 wonders are a band between former members of pete and the pirates, hot silk pockets and desdemona. they provide us with lo-fi slacker sing-alongs akin to a purer, more british weezer.

THE PAWNBROKER (reading, uk)
THE PAWNBROKER is pete brookes and ben sandiford.

minimal hymns for the common man.

original soundtracks for original films.

klanging metallic textures, insistent overtones and grinding repetitions performed in sharp suits, at maximum volume. christopherbrettbailey.com

ARSENIO (reading, uk)
ARSENIO are an unassuming guitar and drum duo from the burbs of reading who play a form of glistening high powered sportsmusic. chug and squall and syncho rumble. math rock scribbled on a napkin, more than the sum of its parts, an equation that does not equate. sprawling and restless riff monster compojams that hide their tracts of melody like an ogre hides his heart. that lodge their spawn nestled in your ears and leave them to hatch and grow up in your brain. enjoy.

LOVE.STOP.REPEAT (surrey, uk)
love.stop.repeat is lindsay west and david millar. they play what might be neatly described as alt-folk, using as many instruments as two people can possibly juggle on stage to bring their songs to life.

main vocalist lindsay hops between guitar, harmonium and synth, while dave tinkers with guitars, banjo, ukulele and accordion, tapping out beats with bits of drum kit spread out on the floor at his feet.

JOHN Q MICROWAVE (elsewhere)
john q microwave is elusive to say the least. we have only been able to communicate with him via rob calder, the mastermind behind previous ddd!? artist EBBS AND FLOWS. his representative has assured us that his music will be somewhere between dark, pounding and slightly distorted.

SILENT FRONT (kingston-upon-thames, uk)
silent front are truly phenomenal, punching out beautiful songs based around staccato beats, passion and a raging guitar. influences range from the obvious likes of fugazi to the more esoteric.

COLD PUMAS (brighton/london, uk)
