an econo band night #5

where: kings tavern, reading, uk.
when: Sunday, February 15, 2009 19:00 - 23:00
admission: £3
RAMPANT RABBIT (leeds, uk)
continuing leedsí strong tradition of exciting diy noise rock, fresh-comers rampant rabbit are a rare and strange blend brewed in 2007. musically, the dual bass trio deftly manoeuvre between complex math funk out riffs not dissimilar to faraquet or oxes and sludge-laden doom drones for fans of boris or melvins. also they have fit young faces and lots of shouting.

members are now active in hired muscle, action beat, and hank haint.

THE JELAS (bristol, uk)
the most awkward fantastic indie rock you will ever hear. songs weaving in and out of each other and into fantastic new directions.

SLY & THE FAMILY DRONE (basingstoke, uk)
using only drums and processed cassettes, and incorporating many elements of avant-garde music and sound art in their realisation, sly & the family drone are a primal orchestra of drum rhythms, radiophonic oscillator noise and electronically-abstracted vocals. they forge hypnotic, textural workouts in the vein of black dice, shit & shine and crash worship.

THE SHITTY LIMITS (the commuter belt, uk)
a punk band based in or around a few of the home counties. the shitty limits fused the best bits from the history of punk rock - everything from garage to hardcore, and everything in between is sucked in, chewed up and spat out.
